Coms can issue you with a number from over 200 area codes. You can keep a Coms number for Life, as it moves with you to anywhere in the UK and even abroad.

Why do I need to choose a dialling code?

Traditionally, when you join a new phone company, you get a phone number with the dialling code of the town or city you live in. If you live in London, you get a London code. If you come from Edinburgh, it's an Edinburgh dialling code. With Coms, you can, if you want, choose a dialling code that's different to the one for where you live.

Why would I want to choose a different dialling code?

Choosing a dialling code gives you the flexibility to use your phone number in the way that saves you, and those who call you, the most money. A UK area dialling code that's local to your friends or family means that they can call you, no matter where you live, for no more than the cost of local call. Whatever dialling code you opt for, you can still make unlimited* landline calls within the UK or to countries included in your call plan.

How do I get my new number?

Once you've joined Coms and chosen your number it’s activated instantly and will act in the same way as a regular landline number.

How do I get set up?

The quickest way is to download and install the free Coms PC-Phone. If you have purchased a telephone from Coms, we’ll ship to you in a couple of days ad once it’s connected and configured you're ready to go: you can receive calls, and make calls just like before. The quality of the calls will be so good that no one will even know you're using a VoIP phone service.

What is a Virtual Phone Number?

A Virtual Phone Number is a low-cost secondary phone number, with a different code, reserved for incoming calls. When someone dials this, it rings through to your main Coms phone line. So friends and family elsewhere in the UK can call you as though you lived locally, and avoid paying for a national call. What is an International Virtual Phone Number?

It's the same principle – except that you pick a different country dialling code. Anyone calling you from abroad can speak to you as though lived in the same country.
