Coms.Com launches handset range to give it the greatest share of VoIP
VoIP business provides details of phone range in advance of market entry
London, September 29, 2006: Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone service provider Coms plc (www.coms.com) today announces details of a handset range to accompany the official launch, which takes place on 9 October.
Coms.Com is the first broadband telephony service in the UK that will allow consumers to choose their own personal telephone number and use it to make low cost, high quality phone calls wherever a wireless high-speed internet connection is available.
"We believe that the real driver of VoIP take up will be the handsets. Wireless networks are popping up all over the place nowadays. Our range of desirable, 'mobile-esque' handsets means that making phone calls via the Internet or on the move has finally become a viable option for consumers. The functionality of our handsets is very similar to standard mobiles, so users wont need to learn how to use yet another device. In fact all they should notice is a dramatic drop in their phone bills," said Terry Martin, CEO of Coms plc.
Manufactured by UTStar the special VoIP handsets are available direct from www.coms.com
F1000 WiFi VoIP Telephone
The F1000 is an attractively priced, portable handset that can be carried and used anywhere in your business or at home. It automatically searches for and connects to any WiFi access point, even when you're out and about using a public network. The handset boasts crystal clear reception within the range of your chosen router thanks to its use of the 802.11b wireless standard.
The handset is also SIP-based which gives it the flexibility to integrate with most IP-PBX systems as well as the majority of VoIP service accounts.
Convenience is enhanced further by the F1000's ability to store information on up to four different WiFi network configurations and the security settings for each one. This enables you to achieve a quick and hassle-free connection to frequently used networks.
