With a VoIP Wi-Fi phone, the latest communication technology is yours to employ. Many of the latest smartphones have WiFi and VoIP capabilities, so that they can browse the internet and make and receive VoIP calls, as well as normal mobile (GSM) calls. These mobile wifi phones voip can work with your modem (Wi-Fi router), giving you the choice to make as few or as many calls as you want.
The benefit of this is that whenever you are connected to a WiFi Hot Spot you can make and receive VoIP calls. For example, if you are connected to a WiFi Hot Spot in Singapore, you could make calls from your mobile at the standard Coms rates or talk to colleagues on the Coms system for free, because the handset will work exactly the same as any Coms IP Phone.
These Nokia handsets are all WiFi enabled and VoIP compatible, and they can work with your broadband modem / router, , this gives you the ability to make VoIP phone calls.

Setting up most features on a mobile is complicated and time consuming, so we have developed an Over-The-Air Provisioning (OTAP) system. Coms can enable WiFi VoIP on compatible Nokia WiFi VoIP handsets, listed on the left, by using our OTAP system.
Mobile Wi-Fi VoIP can be enabled on your account either as chargeable UK Direct Dial numbers, or as free internal extensions. No additional "seat" fee is charged for a Wi-Fi mobile, if you already have a primary seat. However, if your company is going to use Mobile Wi-Fi VoIP as your primary phones, the usual per seat charges apply.
Once your handset has been configured over-the-air, you just need to set up your Wireless Access Point that the phone will initially use to make Coms VoIP calls, as follows:
Menu ->Tools ->Settings ->Connection ->Access Point ->Select your AP
Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Call Default call type: Internet
Make a Test Call: Dial 789 – To hear the Coms test message
1. To set a menu button on your “Standby Screen”:
Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Phone -> Standby mode -> Active Standby Apps
2. To set a Selection button on your handset as a shortcut:
Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Phone -> Standby mode -> Right or Left selection key -> Internet Telephone
Exit these menus, hit the Internet Tel. selection key and choose your access point to log your Nokia into our servers. You are now ready to make VoIP calls.
Coms Mobile WiFi VoIP enable you to make VoIP calls from a WiFi enabled mobile, like the Nokia E series, the primary benefit being that using VoIP you can make FREE VoIP calls to other Coms subscribers and very cheap calls to everyone else.
We send a configuration text message to your phone that configures the handsets VoIP settings to work with Coms
From anywhere that you can get WiFi access! Typically from office, home, open hot spots, etc.
Currently we support the Nokia E Series by OTAP (Over the Air Provisioning) but you can use any handset that is VoIP SIP capable.

Coms is not a replacement for your ordinary telephone service and you cannot make emergency calls using Coms. However, this does not prevent you using your mobile phone for making emergency calls via your Cellular Provider as normal.
